Rodgers Tanui ("we," "us," or "our") built Cadence: Intermittent Fasting ("Cadence," "the app," or "the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Cadence on iPhone and iPad, and when you visit this website.

Questions? Contact hello@rodgerslabs.com.

Summary

  • Cadence doesn't require an account, and we don't collect any data from the app.
  • Your fasts, check-ins, schedules and goals are stored on your device.
  • When you're signed in to iCloud, Cadence syncs them through your own private iCloud database. We can't see that data.
  • There are no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking. We never sell your information.
  • You can export your data or delete it at any time.

Information you enter

When you use Cadence, you may record fasting sessions (start and end times and the time zone), mood and energy check-ins, notes, your fasting schedule, custom schedules, goals, and app settings such as whether reminders are on. Some of this, such as mood, energy and fasting habits, may relate to your health. It is stored on your device and, if you're signed in to iCloud, in your private iCloud database. It is never sent to us.

Information we don't collect

Cadence doesn't collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, health records from Apple Health, advertising identifiers or usage analytics. It contains no third-party SDKs. Its privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data, and its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected." If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and we use it only to reply.

How your information is used

Your data is used only on your devices, to provide Cadence's features: the timer, history, insights, goals, reminders, widgets, the Live Activity, Siri and Shortcuts, and sync between your own devices. It is not used for advertising or profiling, and it is never shared with or sold to anyone.

iCloud sync

When your device is signed in to iCloud, Cadence syncs your data automatically through Apple's CloudKit, in the private database of your iCloud account. Only you can access it; we have no access to it, and we run no servers of our own. Apple stores this data under Apple's iCloud Terms and Privacy Policy. To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Cadence or sign out of iCloud in the Settings app; Cadence keeps working with your data on the device. If a different Apple ID signs in, Cadence asks what to do before anything syncs with that account.

Purchases

Cadence Premium and its free trial are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Cadence checks with the App Store whether Premium is unlocked and remembers the answer on your device so it works offline.

Notifications

If you turn on reminders, Cadence schedules notifications on your device, such as a check-in reminder, an "almost there" reminder, the end of your fast, and goal milestones. They're created on the device; we don't send notifications from any server. You can turn them off in Cadence's Settings or in the Settings app.

Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts

Widgets and the Live Activity read a small summary of your current fast that Cadence keeps on your device. When you use Siri or Shortcuts with Cadence, Apple processes your request under its own privacy policy, and Cadence answers on your device.

Diagnostics

Cadence writes performance summaries from Apple's MetricKit to a log on your device; they aren't sent to us. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics through App Store Connect.

Export and deletion

You can export all your fasting data as CSV or JSON from the Insights tab. You can delete any fast, custom schedule or goal in the app, and deletions sync to your other devices. Deleting Cadence removes its data from that device. To delete Cadence's data from iCloud, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage (or Manage Account Storage) → Cadence. Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

This website

cadence.rodgerslabs.com uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify or track individual visitors across sites. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.

Children's privacy

Cadence is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal information. Because your Cadence data stays on your devices and in your iCloud, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. For anything else, contact hello@rodgerslabs.com.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version at cadence.rodgerslabs.com/privacy and update the date above.
