Common questions
- Do I need an account?
- No. Cadence has no sign-up or login. Open it, pick a schedule and start your first fast.
- Is Cadence free?
- Yes. Cadence is free to download, with everything you need for today's fast: fasts up to 24 hours, history, check-ins, reminders, sync, export and widgets. Cadence Premium is an optional one-time purchase ($9.99 USD or your local equivalent) for extended fasts, custom schedules, longer-term insights and goals.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. Premium is a single purchase. You pay once and never again.
- How does the free trial work?
- Tap any Premium feature, then Try Free for 14 Days. It unlocks everything in Premium for 14 days and never charges you. When it ends, Premium features lock again unless you buy Premium. Your custom schedules and goals stay in the app either way. The trial is offered once per Apple Account, and reinstalling doesn't restart it.
- I bought Premium. How do I get it on another device?
- Open Settings in Cadence and tap Restore Purchases on any iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. Family Sharing is on, so people in your family group get Premium too.
- Does Cadence work offline?
- Yes. Every feature except syncing and purchasing works without an internet connection.
- How does sync work?
- When you're signed in to iCloud, Cadence syncs automatically between your iPhone and iPad through your private iCloud. There's nothing to set up. Settings shows the sync status. To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Cadence in the Settings app.
- Settings says sync is Paused. Why?
- A different Apple ID signed in on this device, and you chose Keep Local Data. Cadence never moves your data to another account without asking. Tap the sync status in Settings to choose again: keep local data, upload it to the new account, or merge the two.
- I'm not getting reminders.
- Turn on Notifications in Cadence's Settings, and check that notifications are allowed for Cadence in the Settings app. Reminders are scheduled when a fast starts: a check-in 6 hours in, an "almost there" 2 hours before the end, and one when you reach your goal.
- How do I export or delete my data?
- Export everything as CSV or JSON from the Insights tab. To delete a fast, swipe left on it in My Fasts. Deletions sync to your other devices.
- Does Cadence track me or show ads?
- No. Cadence has no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking. We can't see your data.
- Which devices are supported?
- iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or later, including widgets, the Live Activity, Control Center and Siri.
- Is fasting safe for me?
- Cadence is a tracking tool, not medical advice. Talk to your doctor before you start fasting, especially if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes or another medical condition, take medication, or have a history of disordered eating.
